Watchbatteryrecycle.org is sponsored by the American Watch Association to encourage recycling of spent mercury-containing button-cell batteries in electronic watches and clocks.

Button-cell batteries should be recycled properly by having a professional watch technician remove the spent battery from the watch or clock and forward it to an appropriate waste management service for recycling.
